The Medicaid Waiver Waitlist

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities maintains a statewide waiting list of individuals requesting and waiting for services in accordance with rule requirements identified in the Developmental Disabilities Waiver Services Medicaid Coverage and Limitations Handbook.  The number of individuals added to the waiver each year depends upon several factors. The factors that affect enrollment include:

As funding becomes available, the agency will enroll people from the waitlist once eligibility is determined.

Intake and Eligibility

An individual must have a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Spinal Bifida, or Prader-Willi Syndrome to become eligible to receive services.  The Area 7 Intake Workers are responsible for collecting the documentation needed to verify the diagnosis.  This documentation is obtained from school records, psychological reports, and medical evaluations with the permission of the parents or guardians.  The Agency for Persons with Disabilities can provide psychological evaluations at no cost to the individual or family if they are not available through other resources.
