Assistance in Maintaining Benefits While Working

Are you not working because you fear losing your governmental benefits? Or, are you limiting the number of hours you work for the same reason? Check out this section to learn about special rules that can help people with disabilities do that very thing: work more and maintain their benefits!

Floridians with disabilities want to work but fear losing their governmental benefits if they do!

Special rules have been developed to make it possible for people with disabilities receiving Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) to work and still receive monthly payments and Medicare or Medicaid. However, Florida (as many other states) is having a difficult time informing people about these rules, as well as implementing these rules. Generally these rules are called Work Incentives. Below are links to websites about work incentives, about various professionals that are trained and certified to assist you with work incentives, as well as a unique Florida network being developed to assist you to connect with the “right person” (persons trained and certified to assist you).
