Area 13

The Area 13 trainings listed below takes place at the Area 13 Program office in Wildwood. Here are the directions to the program office:

The program office is located in Wildwood, several miles before you reach the downtown area . If you are coming from Interstate 75. it is on State Road 44 directly before or after ( depending on which direction you are coming from) the Russell Stover Candy Outlet. Russell Stover's is across from our building on the same side of the road. The Agency for Persons with Disabilities is located in the Beige building (on the first floor) which also houses The Department of Children and Families. Our address does not show up in MapQuest. For those of you who do not know where it is, the address for the Russell Stover Candy Outlet is given instead.

The Russell Stover's Candy Outlet address is:

Normally for classes an individual must sign up at the Area 13 training website. For Supported Employment Workshops, any interested individual from Area 13 can just come. Supported Employment Preservice course

Monday, October 19th : 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 20th 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (no class on Wednesday)
Thursday,October 22, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ( a break for lunch is included, this is the only full day)

Course Description:

This four day course covers all aspects of supported employment using the Dale DiLeo curriculum " Supported Employment and Natural Supports." The class is designed for those who are interested in providing Supported Employment Services or those interested in learning more about supported employment ( such as waiver support coordinators). The class includes a wide range of topics including supported employment's core values, assessment and career planning, marketing and job development, on the job training and supports, on going supports and special issues. Also included will be instruction in how going to work affects an individual's social security benefits.
