Broderick Zanders involved, dedicated

Broderick Zanders wins customers and co-workers over with his fun personality. He has been employed with Wal-Mart in Quincy for three years.
"He interacts with everyone, from customers to employees," says Zanders' supervisor, manager Cordell Mosley.
Zanders is a motivated young man who has been diagnosed with a disability. "I do not like to sit at home wasting time watching television," he said. "I want to get out there and do something to help others."
October is Disability Employment Awareness Month. Florida's Agency for Persons with Disabilities is highlighting the contributions of Zanders and other people with disabilities to the work force.
Zanders enjoys contributing to the success of his store. He is a maintenance assistant. Some of his tasks include cleaning mirrors, straightening up various areas, maintaining restrooms and helping to keep the store in top-notch condition.
When Zanders is not working four days a week, he is helping take care of his grandmother by making sure she is eating well and taking her medication.
"He doesn't just work; he makes everyone laugh and is concerned with the well-being of other customers and employees," Mosley said.
APD supports people with developmental disabilities to live, learn and work in their communities. The agency annually serves about 35,000 Floridians with developmental disabilities. For more information about the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, visit APDcares.org.
