APD Training Portal

Web-based Courses and Registration for Courses not taught by APD

The APD web-based training and non-APD classroom training registration is a cooperative effort with private industry.  Various required training courses are available on several websites.  First, you will see a list of the websites that offer classroom training for CPR.  Second, is a list of web-based courses and locations APD currently recognizes as meeting handbook-training requirements.  Classroom trainings for the web-based courses below are also acceptable for AIDS/HIV/Infection Control and First Aid.

Only classroom training is acceptable for CPR and APD does not provide this training.  The following links will take you to the approved organizations so that you may find a classroom training to attend.  The link is on the left and the course title of the acceptable course(s) is shown to the right. The majority of courses offered by these agencies include training in Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  However, there is no requirement for waiver providers to have AEDs on sight or available for use.  Use this resource, “How to manage NON-TRAIN courses” to add the courses to your TRAIN Florida Transcript.

The following listing is for acceptable web-based required training courses offered by specified organizations.  The title of the course is listed on the left with the specific course title in bold.  On the right, across from the course title, is the name of the organization offering the course. To go to the organization’s site, click the organization’s name link.
Note: Some organizations offer multiple courses that will meet the requirement, while others offer only one course.  Please pay close attention to the course title you are registering for to ensure it meets the handbook requirements.  Use this resource “How to manage NON-TRAIN courses” to add the courses to you TRAIN Florida Transcript.

Below are links to additional organizations that may have in-service courses that would meet your needs.  If you are a provider and want to meet your in-service requirement by taking one of the courses listed on this page, you will need to speak with the sponsoring agency to ensure it will provide you with the necessary documentation, as required by the waiver handbook.

Note: Courses being offered by organizations outside of APD may not meet APD-approved training for in-service requirements. As a result, you will not receive credit for completing a course that is not part of APD-approved training. Please check with regional or state APD office training staff for approval before registering for a non-APD course.  Use the resource, “How to manage NON-TRAIN courses” to add the courses to you TRAIN Florida Transcript.
