Rish Park's roughly 100 acres extend from the Gulf of Mexico, on the west side of the St. Joseph Peninsula, to St. Joseph Bay on the east side. About half of the park, between Cape San Blas Road and the bay, is currently closed to visitors.
Although the bay side of the park has boardwalks, piers, picnic pavilions, and nature trails, they have been unusable since the recent hurricanes. The Agency for Persons with Disabilities has plans for restoring these bay-side amenities, as well as adding boardwalks, trails, an accessible treehouse overlooking the bay, and a 30-site camping area for recreational vehicles.
Plans for the gulf side include restoring its basketball court, miniature golf course, and shuffleboard court, and adding additional family cottages.
Until the economic health of the state improves, allocations from the Legislature will be insufficient to support these goals. If you want to support future improvements to the park, please consider making a financial contribution. Make your check payable to the APD DDC Trust Account and send it to the Sunland Center at the address below. Sunland, APD's developmental disabilities center in Marianna, operates Rish Park.

Please remember to write "Rish Park Donation" in the check's memo blank. Include a letter if you have a specific request on how the donation will be used. Sunland will acknowledge your tax-deductible donation with a letter for your records.
If you would like to schedule a tour of Rish Park, please call the park's manager at (850) 227-1876. To discuss any of these park improvements, call APD's Central Office in Tallahassee, toll-free, at 1-866-APD-CARES (1-866-273-2273).
