Sunland Marianna > Nursing Services

Sunland Nursing Services are grounded in standards of Developmental Disabilities Nursing Practice. Nursing practice at Sunland is a specialized type of nursing with the focus of assisting individuals to achieve the highest possible level of independence. It is only with optimum health that individuals with developmental disabilities can work toward independence.

Nursing interventions are focused on maximizing physical, psychosocial, cognitive, affective, and psychomotor strengths of the individuals while endorsing wellness, normalization, and advocacy. Coordination of interventions with families, staff, significant others and those who deliver services is necessary in order for the individual to achieve optimum health.

Sunland nurses provide services to individuals at the location of need - homes, school, work, leisure, and recreational sites as well as the campus at large. Coordination and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team occurs at formal meetings and informal exchanges in order for nursing staff to facilitate the health care needs of individuals throughout the lifespan.

Call Nursing Administration at 850.482.9487 to learn more about the practice of nursing at Sunland Center.
