Dream Inspired
By Ron Sharpe, Executive Director The Arc of the BayMichael Fletcher has been attending the St. Andrew Bay Center, The Arc of the Bay, for a little over a year and half. During this time we have been implementing “Dream Inspired” planning where we ask our customers if they would like to work if given the opportunity. In June 2019, we started our certified culinary program in our Culinary Institute and followed up with Michael asking him if he would like to attend our program.
Michael shot to the top of the class, as he quickly grasped the curriculum and became a “go-to” student to help mentor other students. Michael graduated on December 18, 2019 and also received his ServSafe Certification.
On March 5, Michael was hired on the spot by Kentucky Fried Chicken during his interview. It is amazing what can happen when you give individuals the opportunity to learn and grow. Most importantly, when you believe in them, they will believe in themselves.
Michael Fletcher is a recent graduate of the certified culinary program at St. Andrew Bay Center, The Arc of the Bay.
Michael is able to put his skills to work at his local Kentucky Fried Chicken. He enjoys working with his manager, Candi.
