Denise Arnold Scholarship Fund Set Up
Denise Arnold worked hard every day to make sure self-advocates and their families felt empowered and engaged. Denise’s strong advocacy and compassion for all individuals will be reflected into the future with a new scholarship in her name.
Denise was the Deputy Director of Programs for APD, and was a tireless, compassionate champion for the families APD served. Denise worked more than 31 years helping people with developmental disabilities live and participate in their communities. Her guiding philosophy was to include self-advocates, individuals, and families in the decision-making process. Denise passed away on June 30, 2018.
In Denise’s honor, a self-advocate scholarship has been set up at the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council. Denise served many years as the APD representative on the DD Council.
