Group Home Residents Attend Family Café

This past May, residents and staff of the Cromartie Group Home in Miami attended the 24th Annual Family Café, held in Orlando. The event provides individuals with disabilities and their families helpful information resources and networking opportunities. Residents and staff that attended said they had a wonderful experience.

Each resident at Cromartie Group Home is unique, bringing their own skills and abilities to the world. A few that were in attendance were Lawrence, Hunter, Blondell, and Jackie. Lawrence, Hunter, Blondell, and Jackie have developmental disabilities and receive services from APD. Lawrence enjoys cooking and cleaning, helping others, listening to music, and having a good conversation with others. Hunter is a jovial individual and is always trying to make others laugh. He also enjoys helping others and enjoys picking out movies and activities for everyone. Blondell is energetic and kind, always willing and ready to care for others. Jackie is a lovable and happy person, always ready to help staff and her peers. When not helping others, she enjoys listening to music, exercising, working, and watching African movies and TV shows.
