APD Southern Region Assists Collier County Disaster Recovery Center
By Hillary JacksonThe Southern Region stepped up to the plate by volunteering to support the agency’s efforts at the Collier County Disaster Recovery Center (DRC). Several Southern Region employees were eager to assist in any way possible. Yugoslavia Marte, Silvia Zayas, Liudmila Cardenas, Lily Anne Felton, and Valter Martinez all offered assistance at the DRC. Some were able to stay a few days at a time and some for an entire week. They provided support to the individuals impacted by Hurricane Ian. Staff came away with an appreciation for what DRC sites do to assist after a disaster. They met and interacted with other state and federal agencies at the site gaining insight into their roles. Southern Region thanks all staff that volunteered to go, and a special thank you for those that served at the DRC. Way to go!
