Caregiver Appreciation Luncheon Held in Pensacola
By Tara PotterFaith Finders is a women’s bible group at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Every year these ladies partner with Project Empower to deliver a beautifully prepared Christmas luncheon in honor of all those who care for individuals with a disabilities.
The Faith Finders tell us they look forward to this event every year. In 2020 meals were delivered in to-go boxes, as a result of the pandemic. So, this year, the event was especially anticipated and highly attended. The total number of attendees this year was 111, which included 75 caregivers and others who came out to show their support.
Everyone was excited to see each other in person, the energy in the room was exuberant. What a great reward it was to finally see others who share our passion to serve those with disabilities, in person.
The luncheon was delicious, with large portions, and the tables and room were beautifully decorated. And I must mention the decadent dessert tables filled with homemade goodies. The Faith Finders were all there, serving with huge smiles.
What a blessing these ladies have been all these years! Caregiving is not an easy job and the COVID-19 pandemic has brought additional challenges. Our loved ones with disabilities were significantly impacted with even more isolation, depending even more on those who deliver care.
This event offers a rare opportunity to show how much we appreciate their service to others. The Faith Finders completely funded this year’s event, and this blessing made it even better.
Join us in future years as we plan to continue this annual event, occurring the second Tuesday of December at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, hosted by Project Empower and the Faith Finders.
