Survey May Help Improve Providers’ Staff Stability
The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) is participating in the National Core Indicators™ (NCI) Staff Stability Survey and invites eligible providers to participate. If your company provides direct support in residential, in-home, and/or non-residential settings to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, we need your help. For the data to provide the most value, it is important that all eligible providers participate.
In states across the country, similar survey results have been used to support budget requests for improved funding for staff stability issues. While survey results do not guarantee those outcomes, evidence discovered because of this important study is crucial for those budget discussions.
Providers have until June 30, 2022, to complete the survey. The information requested includes Direct Support Personnel (DSP) wages, numbers, benefits, turnover, and services provided from January 1-December 31, 2021. Providers will receive an email with their invitation and a link to complete the online survey.
Survey responses are completely confidential. APD staff will not have access to the answers of individual providers, and no other Florida providers will be able to see your answers. Qualified providers who do not receive an invitation to participate in the survey can contact Kimberly Quinn at Kimberly.Quinn@APDCares.org or (850) 414-8871.
After the Staff Stability Survey, a report will be produced by NCI to show the Florida average and how we compare with other states. This report will be available to the public. No agencies will be identified. APD and policymakers will use the findings from NCI to identify areas for improvement to assist with DSP quality and stability in Florida.
APD is excited to be a part of this wonderful opportunity to hear directly from provider agencies about their Direct Support Personnel workforce.
