ADT Changes Coming

APD is working to bring iBudget Florida waiver funded Adult Day Training (ADT) and Supported Employment into compliance with the federal Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Settings Rule by March 2023. Changes to the iBudget Florida waiver were approved effective October 1, 2022.

Changes include designating ADT as a habilitation service only (assisting customers with meaningful day activities and community inclusion) and will no longer include job training and employment.

Additional changes include a new service called Prevocational Training (Life Skills Development 4) that is intended to create more paths to employment for APD customers. This new service will last up to 36 months and will include volunteering and non-specific job skills to help APD customers transition to competitive, integrated employment.

APD is currently hosting webinars, meetings, and disseminating information about the ADT redesign to customers, providers, support coordinators, and other stakeholders.

The anticipated time for implementation is January 2023. An APD email address has been set up for providers, clients, legal representatives, and stakeholders to send their questions at adtinitiatives@apdcares.org.
