Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day at the Capitol

On March 14, The Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC) hosted Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day (DD Day). Governor Ron DeSantis issued a proclamation declaring a special day throughout the state.

FDDC held a virtual rally the morning of that included messages from Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) Director Taylor Hatch, advocates, and leaders from across the state. Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day also included exhibitor booths at the Capitol, where stakeholders, agencies, and advocates shared information and resources for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The APD Communications Team staffed the display table, answering questions and sharing informational brochures. Director Hatch enjoyed meeting and visiting with so many individuals and families that APD serves.
