Tallahassee - An employee of the Big Bend United Way, Swanzetta Green, will address Governor Charlie Crist and the Florida Cabinet on Tuesday, September 28, on the importance of including people with disabilities in the work force. Green, who has cerebral palsy, has worked for United Way for eight years.
Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink will introduce a Cabinet resolution declaring October as Disability Employment Awareness Month in Florida. The Cabinet meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in the Cabinet meeting room on the lower level of the Capitol Building.
Along with Green, leaders from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Vocational Rehabilitation, Blind Services, and the Able Trust will be there to accept the resolution.
