September
On September 25 and September 26, we will have the Leslie Wilson Supported Employment Training which will cover techniques for career planning, networking to building careers, marketing, customer service, interviewing, assistive technology, reasonable accommodations and workplace productivity tips. Agenda and registration are provided below.
October
On October 6 and October 7, we will have Sharon Brent with the National Disability Institute providing training on understanding social security benefits and work incentives. The registraion and outline for this training is below. For more detailed information on Sharon Brent please read her biographical information which is also included.
School personnel, supported employment job coaches, supported living coaches, support coordinators, vocational rehabilitation counselor, parents, individuals with disabilities and anyone that provides services to individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend.
The training is free and seating is limited to room capacity. Register early to guarantee a seat.
* If you are a new supported employment service provider, you will need to attend all four days to become certified to provide services for our agency.
Projects and Activities planned by the Steering Committee/Area Quality Leader

The workgroup is developing more usable materials to teach people about rights. A picture
version of the material will be included. These materials will be provided to the community at large,
not just the APD population.

The workgroup is developing a user-friendly presentation regarding the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
The presentation will be available in several formats for use by Steering Committee Members as well as APD staff.
