The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) is working hard to provide families, stakeholders, Waiver Support Coordinators, and providers the latest information related to COVID-19 and how it impacts our customers.  Because things are changing very quickly, we have created a page on our website with all the current COVID-19 information at https://apd.myflorida.com/covid19/.

On March 6 and 7, representatives from the 15 Family Care Councils gathered in Orlando for the March Family Care Council Florida (FCCF) meeting. During the meeting, Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) staff provided the council with updates.

Andrew Wong works as a Chick-fil-A dining room host, cleaning tables, delivering orders, refilling drinks, and dishing up soft-serve ice cream. Like most his age, he recently graduated high school and needed a job.

Michael Fletcher has been attending the St. Andrew Bay Center, The Arc of the Bay, for a little over a year and half. During this time we have been implementing “Dream Inspired” planning where we ask our customers what would they like to work if given the opportunity.

Martha Dancy-Daniel and Annette Zeeb with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) Northwest Region participated in the Transition Services Information Fair sponsored by the Escambia County School District Exceptional Student Education Department held on March 6th at Marcus Pointe in Pensacola. 

Job-a-Palooza is an annual event where local and surrounding area youth with varying disabilities can learn and demonstrate new job skills and make new connections.
