About DDDP and Pathways
Mission Statement:
The Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program and Pathways are dedicated to empowering persons with developmental disabilities charged with a felony crime to acquire the skills needed to become competent to stand trial, and to acquire the skills and supports that will prepare them for future success.
Vision Statement:
A compassionate, professional team providing gold standard support services to prepare individuals with developmental disabilities to reach their maximum potential.
DDDP
The Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program (DDDP) is a 146-bed secure facility located in Chattahoochee, Florida, on the Florida State Hospital campus, serving co-ed residents committed under Florida Statutes 916 and 393. DDDP provides behavioral, medical, psychological, trial competency, rehabilitation, and vocational training services.
Pathways
Pathways is a 34-bed facility located in Marianna, Florida, on the Sunland campus, serving residents committed under Florida Statute 393. Pathways is a behavioral modification program in which residents are provided a secure setting to receive rehabilitation and vocational training.
Services
- Behavioral Services
Develops and implements individual behavioral plans, manages reactive strategies, and provides oversight to resident level-system(s) - Programming Services
Trial competency, vocational training, and rehabilitation training offer resident courses and skills acquisition - Medical/Nursing Services
Ensures nursing presence and medical care to residents at all facilities, 24 hours a day - Psychological Services
Conducts forensic evaluations and provides courts with findings - Psychiatric Services
Focuses on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders - Social Services
Serves as a liaison between the court system and the families of residents, and provides oversight for multidisciplinary support team - Residential Care Services
Provides supervision of daily living activities to residents 24 hours a day - Resident Advocacy
Provides immediate support and services to residents as needed, or upon request, and ensures resident rights are protected
