Resident Opportunities (Rehab/Vocational)


The Rehab Department offers a variety of activities and classes that will help our residents once they are transitioned back into the community.

Some of the classes we offer:

Life Skills with Emphasis on Social Skills

  • Residents learn and discuss skills needed to be successful at DDDP and their future environment.  These skills include, but are not limited to, identifying behavior and expressions of others, how to control emotions, how to interview, increasing positive vocabulary, how to interact with members of the community, and more. 

Life Skills with Emphasis on Educational Skills

  • Residents learn basic academic skills needed to better equip them to communicate and function more effectively in the community.  These skills include: math, reading, writing, science, social studies geography, and more.

Fitness

  • The Rehab Department sets workout plans for our residents that they can utilize to maintain a healthy lifestyle once they transition into the community.  

Recreation

  • Residents enjoy leisure activities such as playing cards, dominoes, basketball, ping pong, checkers, video games, etc.

Current Events

  • Residents learn about current events happening in the world such as news, events, weather, politics, etc.

Music Appreciation

  • Residents learn how music can assist in recovery goals and developing new horizons.
