Can you register multiple devices for your secondary authentication?

  • Devices registered for multifactor authentication follow the user account. For example: If Bob has two devices, he can enroll them both to use for secondary authentication with his user account, but he cannot register one of his devices to use with Alice’s user account.

Other options that could facilitate the scenario described in the question:

    1. A system user can set up a phone authentication PIN to take an authentication voice call. This way, a single phone number at the PS house could be used to authentication multiple users (each with their own PINs)
    2. A single tablet could be configured to produce time-based login codes for multiple users with an app like Google Authenticator or another app that supports TOTP-OATH (Time-based One-time Password Algorithm) code generation. Each user in turn would set up their authentication codes on the device from their own user accounts in the APD.Direct portal. If each user names their own authentication code account on the device using their own name, they would be able to easily see which code to use upon logging in.
